Legal Trouble for ‘Carry On Jatta 3’ as Complaint Alleges Derogatory Content

The team behind ‘Carry On Jatta 3,’ including director Smeep Kang and lead actor Gippy Grewal, is facing legal challenges as a written complaint has been lodged at the Jalandhar police station. The complaint, filed by the president of the Youth Committee of Shiv Sena Hind, Ishant Sharma, and the Chairman of Punjab Shiv Sena (Taksali), Sunil Kumar Bunty, alleges derogatory content in the film.

Sunil Kumar Bunty, Chairman of Punjab Shiv Sena (Taksali), voiced concerns about the film, claiming that it targets Hindus with a scene depicting the humiliation of a Brahmin performing Havan rituals. He asserted that Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, and Gurpreet Ghuggi have violated the faith of millions of Hindus, demanding the imposition of Section 295 for hurting religious sentiments.

Sunil Kumar Bunty further stated that if the government fails to act within 24 hours, they plan to protest outside the homes of the director and Gurpreet Ghuggi in Jalandhar. He criticized the individuals involved for allegedly trying to boost their TRP by targeting Hinduism, emphasizing the need for swift action.

Ishant Sharma, President of Shiv Sena Hind Youth Committee, expressed the broken hearts of the community and revealed that they decided to file a complaint after watching the full film, prompted by a clip sent by concerned people. The complainants are urging authorities to review and potentially delete the scene containing inappropriate content.

‘Carry On Jatta 3,’ released on June 29 and directed by Smeep Kang, now finds itself entangled in a legal battle over allegations of religious insensitivity.
