Modi Gears Up for Palakkad Roadshow Amidst BJP Rally and South India Campaign Blitz
  • PublishedMarch 19, 2024

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala’s Palakkad set the stage for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming roadshow with a spirited bike rally held on Monday evening. Scheduled for Tuesday, March 19, Modi’s roadshow is anticipated to commence at 10:30 am from Kottamaidan anchuvilakku, progressing towards the head post office in the town.

This event follows Modi’s recent appearance at a public meeting in Pathanamthitta town on March 15, where he fervently rallied support for National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates vying for seats in southern Kerala. Addressing the crowd, Modi expressed confidence in the BJP’s electoral prospects, declaring that “The Lotus is going to bloom in Kerala” and criticizing both the ruling Left and the opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) for governance marred by corruption and incompetence.

In his speech, Modi highlighted the curious dynamic between the LDF and UDF, accusing them of feigned conflict in Kerala while maintaining alliances in Delhi. Despite their apparent differences, Modi asserted, both parties have failed the people of Kerala, who now see through their deception.

Modi’s frequent visits to the southern state underscore the BJP’s determination to make inroads into Kerala’s political landscape. Earlier on Monday, Modi visited Karnataka’s Shivamogga and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, where he lambasted the Congress-ruled government for its alleged inefficiency and propensity for falsehoods.

In Coimbatore, Modi paid homage to the victims of the 1998 blasts, commemorating their memory amidst a bustling roadshow that drew enthusiastic crowds. Traditional music welcomed him, and fervent supporters danced and waved as Modi made his way through the city streets, underscoring the BJP’s growing presence in Tamil Nadu and beyond.
