The heart of Times Square witnessed an extraordinary spectacle as the Indian diaspora came together to illuminate the iconic location in celebration of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla, ahead of the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

In a vibrant display of cultural unity, members of the Indian community adorned traditional attire, waving saffron flags with ‘Jai Sri Ram’ inscribed upon them. The Consulate General of India in New York shared the joyous occasion, stating, “Indian Diaspora illuminated Times Square with a spectacular celebration of the Pran-Prathistha at Ram Mandir, Ayodhya. #AyodhyaRamTemple.”

Dressed in traditional Indian clothing, the diaspora passionately chanted bhajans and songs, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and vibrancy. The festivities included traditional dances, adding to the joyous atmosphere in the heart of the city.

The ceremony in Ayodhya, scheduled for Monday, will witness the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the idol of Ram Lalla, the childhood form of Lord Ram. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in this historic event, alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds, representing major spiritual and religious sects, various tribal communities, and other prominent personalities.

The Times Square celebration not only reflects the diaspora’s deep-rooted connection with their cultural heritage but also serves as a global testament to the significance of the Ram Mandir’s consecration in Ayodhya.
