SRK, Aamir, among others who met PM to pay tribute to 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji

Man celebrities of the B-town like SRK, Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Ekta Kapoor, Rajkumar Hirani, Kapil Sharma, Jassie Gill, Jacqueline Fernandez Sajid Nadiawala and many others visited Pm Narendra Modi. The celebrities met with PM for a new initiative named “Change Within” and the event was held on October 19.

The main emphasis was put on inviting the entire film industry to make films which would spread the Gandhian philosophes and Gandhism even more. This was especially held to mark 150th birthday of the Father of the Nation.

Prime Minister Modi said, “Gandhi is synonymous with simplicity. His thoughts reverberate far and wide. The power of creativity is immense, and it is essential to harness this spirit of creativity for our nation. Several people from the world of films and television have been doing great work when it comes to popularising the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.”

The Pm also shared a video which features celebrities like Sonam, Aamir, Alia and SRK. The video is a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on behalf of the entire film fraternity.


SRK feels that the industry should come forward and take initiatives for making films on Gandhi ji, as this will be a huge step in building the nation. He said, “I would like to thank the Prime Minister for bringing us all together, that too for a cause as this. I feel we need to re-introduce Gandhi ji to India and the world. The film industry can get self-obsessed and it is important we create work that is not only abut business.”

Producer Boney Kapoor said, “This government has always been sympathetic to the film industry right from (Atal Bihari) Vajpayee saab’s time when we were recognised as an industry. Since Mr Modi came in, he has made it a point to ensure every glitch is solved instantly.”

Many other celebs from the B-town took to the stage and expressed their feelings about the initiative.

SRK took to his social media handle and opened about the conversation he had with the PM.


Kapil Sharma also shared a picture with the PM on his social media handle and wrote, “Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, it felt great to meet you and listen to your thoughts. I hope that under your good leadership, the country continues to touch the sky.”
