Several cricketers have given their victorious performance across three formats of cricket and the latest of them is the duo, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan.

Shikhar Dhawan is an Indian left-handed opening batsman who was born on December 5, 1985, in Delhi in a Punjabi family. While he was 12 years old, Dhawan started with his training at the Sonnet club where he first joined as a wicketkeeper.



He is also known with his nickname as 'Gabbar' and 'Jatt-jee' and is today celebrating his 34th birthday. 

On his birthday we would like to share Shikhar Dhawan's top 5 moments in the game of cricket:

1. India vs Australia third Test match, Mohali in 2013

Shikhar Dhawan gave his debut performance in this test match series where he scored a whopping 187 runs from 174 balls and thus commanded the fastest century. This is still one of the highest score achieved by a batsman on debut.



On this day, Sachin Tendulkar presented him with a cap and said, 
"We have known you as a very gutsy player in domestic cricket, now we hope to see you as a gutsy player in international cricket, so show us some guts."

2. Champions Trophy 2013 - He received two awards

The remarkable runs scored by Shikhar Dhawan at the test match in Mohali gave him the opportunity to play in Champions Trophy, England. There he paired with Rohit Sharma and till date the duo partnership rocks. 



In the first match, he scored a century against South Africa and his explosive batting game him 363 runs in 5 matches with an average of 90.75. His performance made him achieve two awards - The Golden Bat award and the other one, Player of the Tournament

3. Success at the U19 World Cup

In 2004 U-19 World Cup which was held in Bangladesh, Shikhar Dhawan scored the highest runs i.e. 505 runs which included 3 tons at an average of 84.16.




4. India vs South Africa, ODI in 2013

In a One Day international match held at Pretoria against South Africa A, Dhawan scored 248 runs off 150 balls, achieving double century in just 40 overs. This helped India A to quality for the finals of the tri-series after defeating Australia A



5. India vs Australia, Nagpur ODI in 2013

Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave a partnership score of 174 runs which helped the team of the required run rate to chase 351 runs against Australia in the ODI series at Nagpur. In this match, Dhawan achieved his fourth ODI hundred and India did achieve the victory later.
