'Talvar' is a Bollywood film starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi in the main lead, based on the story of the 2008 Noida double murder case of a 13-year-old girl Aarushi Talwar, and 45-year-old Hemraj Banjade, a live-in domestic worker, employed by her family in Noida, India. Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj Banjade were killed on the night of May 15-16, 2008 at Aarushi's home under suspicious circumstances. The case became a national interest due to the gruesome condition of the murders and dead leads in catching the suspect. Though the film was not exactly a box office hit but even then 'Talvar' franchise, has decided to come up with its squeal, announcing to take the story of Talwar's verdict further with the second and the upcoming part which has been titled as 'Talvar 2'. Its story will revolve around the recent murder of a seven-year-old Gurgaon school student. Exploring the story behind the murder of the class 2 student, whose body was found in the school bathroom last September. 'Talvar' was helmed by Meghna Gulzar, whereas the upcoming film will be produced by the Junglee Pictures and Vishal Bhardwaj. Also, Bhardwaj will be directing the second installment. "'Talvar' was about much more than the heinous crime itself. The film held up a mirror to society and exposed several loopholes in the system. Such crimes shake the very moral fabric of society and need to be analyzed in a much deeper sense. The world is not just black and white, there's more to a crime than just victim and perpetrator. That's why we have decided to continue making true crime procedurals like 'Talvar'," Bhardwaj said in a statement. Priti Shahani of Junglee Pictures also stated, "Our journey on 'Talvar' was more than just a film for us. It is a telling example of how big screen stories, when handled honestly and sensitively, have the power to alter the lives of people associated with the real incident. We are excited to embark on our vision of compelling storytelling, yet again with Vishal Bharadwaj and taking the 'Talvar' franchise forward,"
