FORMER TAMIL NADU CM M KARUNANIDHI PASSES AWAY AT 94

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and screenwriter for various Tamil films, M Karunanidhi passed away after his long battling illness at Kauvery hospital in Chennai. Lovingly known as Kalaignar, Karunanidhi breathed his last at 6.10 pm today. The same was announced by the hospital today in an official statement that read, “With deep anguish, we announce the demise of our beloved Kalaignar Dr M Karunanidhi on 07.08.2018 at 06.10 pm. Despite the possible efforts by our team of doctors and nurses to resuscitate him, he failed to respond,” The statement further read, “We profoundly mourn the loss of one of the tallest leaders of India and we share the grief of family members and fellow Tamilians worldwide,” Known as one of the most prominent leaders, Kalaignar immensely contributed to Tamil cinema as a screenwriter. He actively did screenwriting till 2011 for films like Parasakthi, Manohara, Thayilla Pillai, Ilaignan amongst several others. Karunanidhi was also known for his contributions to Tamil literature in terms of his poems, letters, novels, screenplays, biographies and more. As the nation has lost the veteran, various politicians and movie stars took to their social media handle to mourn the loss. Many celebs were spotted at his place last night and Rajnikanth was one of them.
