Well, there are national days dedicated to pies, chocolates, and cheese, and then there are mega events celebrating it so why can't we celebrate the lip-smacking samosas? Right? Well, therefore a National Samosa Week has been launched but not in India, the creators of samosa but in England's Leicester city. The event will be celebrated in order to create an awareness about South Asian food and culture. The event is being organized by Leicester Curry Awards and is scheduled to take place from April 9 to 13. The main aim of the event will be to encourage everyone to try, taste and enjoy these savory bundles of joy. Romail Gulzar, Founder of the awards states;
There's a national food event for everything, from burgers to beer, so why not samosas? The savory dish has grown in popularity and for many people in the South Asian community, eating one is like the equivalent of having tea and cake.The best part of the event after setting up a pop-up shop in Leicester in a city center venue and encouraging people to buy, eat and sell as many samosas as they can.
