Zaira Wasim the National Award-winner announced her “disassociation” from the field of acting on Sunday, saying she was not happy with the line of work as it interfered with her faith and religion.
She officially announced this in a detailed post on her Instagram page, which she later shared across all social media platforms, the Kashmir-born ‘Dangal’ fame star said she realized “though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here”.
“Five years ago I made a decision that changed my life forever. As I stepped my foot in Bollywood, it opened doors of massive popularity for me. I started to become the prime candidate of public attention, I was projected as the gospel of the idea of success and was often identified as a role model for the youth.
Zaira added, “However, that’s never something that I set out to do or become, especially with regards to my ideas of success and failure, which I had just started to explore and understand,”

Zaira was last seen playing Insiya Malik in Secret Superstar (2017) for which she also received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. And recently the actor has wrapped up The Sky is Pink, a biopic on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary alongside Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar.
Well, Zaira’s decision has left us shocked but we do respect her decision and wish her all the very best for her future.
