The directors of the Punjabi film industry are introducing new concepts which earlier were not even considered. Punjabi industry is setting new standards every time a new movie releases with different concept and story line.

RECORD BREAKING MOVIES

Despite the Punjabi films not having any box office collection, still the movies are breaking records and setting new standards for all the future movies. Diljit Dosanjh starrer ‘Sardaar Ji’ broke all records of its time with a collection of Rs. 2.02 crores on its first day of release. Its sequel, ‘Sadaar Ji 2’ collected Rs. 2.05 crores on its first day of release. The recent Punjabi movie ‘Carry On Jatta 2’ recorded a total of Rs. 15.91 crores in its first week of release.
Not only India, but Punjabi films are also released world -wide in different countries. Punjabi films hit the theatres in countries like USA, UAE, and Austria too. Films do well across the borders and have exceeded the expectations of the film makers many times. ‘Sajjan Singh Rangroot’ in which Diljit Dosanjh is in the lead role, was the first Punjabi movie which was released in Russia.
FEMALES TAKE OVER THE CAMERA

The movement of females taking over the camera started with Ish Amitoj Kaur, when she directed the movie ‘Chhevan Dariya’ (The Sixth River) in 2011. She directed another movie ‘Sukhmani- Hope of Life’ which was released in 2010. Neeru Bajwa also turned a producer when she showed her superb skills for the movie ‘Channo Kamli Yaar Di’ and in 2017 she became a director and a producer with the movie ‘Sargi’.
MAKING THEIR WAY INTO BOLLYWOOD

Many Pollywood singers are making their way into Bollywood and making it even big there. Singers like Diljit Dosanjh, Guru Randhawa, Gippy Grewal have already made their way into the industry. Directors like Anurag Singh and Navaniat Singh are also all ready to make their Bollywood directorial debut.
OUTSIDERS JOINING PUNJABI INDUSTRY

Many Bollywood and TV actors are ready tp rpck the Punjabi industry with their acting and dancing skills. Sapna Pabbi who was last seen in Khamoshiyan will make her pOllywood debut with ‘Mar Gaye Oye Loko’. South Indian actress Kajal Aggarwal and TV actress Sanjeeda Sheikh are also set to make Pollywood entry soon.
