The trailer of the much-awaited film Shikara has been released. Helmed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film is the debut film of Sadia and Adil Khan. The film narrates the story of 4, 00,000 Kashmiri Pandits who left the valley in 1990 during the mass exodus.

The trailer starts with a couple who are sitting in their home when they suddenly see a house burning outside their window. The trailer continues and shows how the Kashmiri Pandits were forced to flee the valley of Kashmir and how they become refugees in their own country.

The acting of the debutants seems promising in the trailer.

The film has been extensively shot in Kashmir and is being promoted as a story which still is unextinguished after 30 year exile.

In 1990, more than 4, 00,000 people were pulled out of their houses in Kashmir.

What interests the masses is the fact that the film has been released after a period of 6 months of the abrogation of Article 370, giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The state is now divided into two UTs, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The film 'Shikara' will release in the theatres on 7th February.
