Yesterday at National Film Awards which took place yesterday have once again driven flak of the Twitteratis as they questioned over the nomination of Uri The Surgical Strike which turned out to be the highest-grossing movie of Vicky Kaushal’s career as a solo lead.
The film bagged the best direction award yesterday at the National Film Award for Aditya Dhar who made his directorial debut with this film. This is not it as it also bagged Vicky Kaushal the award of the best actor ( shared with Ayushmann Khurrana for Andhadhun ).
While most of the people showered their love for the movies which have won the National Film Awards, a few of them even questioned the nominations of Uri The Surgical Strike at the event.
The 66th National Film Awards honored and rewarded the films that came out in the year 2018. Because Uri: The Surgical Strike released on January 11, 2019, it left many wondering if the film was even eligible for the awards. See Tweets;
Now, the criteria for any film to enter the race for National Film Awards, it is supposed to have earned its certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification from Janurary 1 of that year to December 31 of that year. Luckily, Uri got its certificate on December 31, 2018, therefore making it eligible for the awards this year itself.
Apart from this, The actor has Bhoot-The Haunted Ship which is first one in the three-film series announced by Karan Johar.
