A Boeing 737-800 carrying 176 passengers onboard has crashed near Tehran, Iran just minutes after taking off killing all as it might have suffered technical problems.
The Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752 was carrying 167 passengers along with nine crew members which was en route Ukraine capital, Kyiv. It took off from the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Iran and minutes after taking off it crashed killing all on board.
As per the reports, the crash is suspected to be a cause of technical issues in the aircraft and an investigation team has also reached the crash site to know more about the wreckage identifying bodies of the deceased.
According to the information gathered from the website FlightRadar24, the flight data of the aircraft was monitored while it took off and then stopped sending data almost immediately it was airborne.
We have also come to know that Iran has launched a ballistic missile attack targeting two US force bases in Iraq in retaliation for the killing of their supreme leader, General Qassem Soleimani. The news of the plane crash comes a couple of hours later from the Iranian missile attack.
A spokesperson from Iran's Road and Transportation Ministry said that after the plane was airborne, one of the engines got struck with fire and the pilot lost control of the plane crashing it into the ground.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has extended condolences to the families of the passengers who were killed in the crash.
It is known that Iran's commercial passenger aircraft fleet has been aging and air accidents have occurred resulting in hundreds of casualties.
