UP police helped a man on Wednesday helped a man by donating money and blood for the treatment of his wife. They also stopped the man from selling his 1 year old so he could get money for his wofe's treatment. Arvind Kumar is a daily wage worker who hails from Saurikh in Kannauj district. He had admitted his pregnant wife in the district hospital on Tuesday after she became unconscious. The hospital authorities informed Arvind that his wife's pregnancy was complicated because she was anaemic. So for the treatment, he was told to arrange Rs 25000 and 5 units of blood for the transfusion. Arvind's daughter had infomred the police that her father had decided to sell off the son, when his friends and relatives refused to help, in order to arrange the money. A couple who wanted a child decided to take Arvind's son for Rs 30000. But the couple later refused as the woman no longer wanted a child from such a deal. She also insisted that her husband should inform the police. Upon getting the information, the police caught hold of Arvind with his son on Wednesday night. During the interrogation, Arvind confessed everything truthfully. Instead of taking the action against Arvind, the police decided to help him by putting in some money and donating the blood for his wife's treatment. Brijendra Singh, the sub-inspector, the leader of the team said, "Kumar was shaken because of his wife’s condition and told me that he wanted to sell his child for money. I assured him of all possible help." The sub-inspector also ensured that the labourer's wife was admitted to the medical college. Amod Kumar Singh, SHO, Tirva police station said, "She is under treatment at the Kannauj Medical College now. Some touts and other staff members at the district hospital had persuaded him to sell off the baby."
