Lal Krishna Advani, an Indian politician began his political career as a volunteer of RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and is also known as one of the co-founders of the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party).
The veteran leader served as the 7th Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004 under Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Before this, he also served as the Minister of Home Affairs in the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government from 1998 to 2004.
On the occasion of LK Advani's birthday, PM Narendra Modi greeted him with flowers at the former deputy PM's residence and credited him with the rise of the BJP. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and BJP President Amit Shah were also present.
The Prime Minister also said that LK Advani toiled for decades in order to give shape to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
Narendra Modi also said that the public services have been always associated with the values for LK Advani and he has never compromised on the ideology.
LK Advani, who took out a Rath Yatra to campaign for a Ram temple at Ayodhya, is also credited with the BJP's rise from a two-seat party in 1984 to a leading political force in the country.
