VIRGIN BHANUPRIYA - A ZEE 5 FILM REVIEW BY NAVJOT

What appears to be a sex comedy from its trailer turns out to be the most disgusting, cringeworthy and problematic film I've seen in recent years.

STORY,  SCREENPLAY AND DIALOGUES

Bhanupriya, a conservative girl decides to lose her virginity but fails in her every attempt. A soothsayer predicts that it is an impossible task and it will not happen to her. She decides to overcome this bad luck.

The film is written and directed by Ajay Lohan and the writing shows the thinking standards of the director. The screenplay is illogical,  vulgar, obscene and sends out all the possible wrong messages out there

The dialogues are crappier than the screenplay.

PERFORMANCES

1 Urvashi Rautela as Bhanupriya Awasthi

Sad to see a woman who represented India at Miss Universe 2015 doing such debaculous films. Urvashi tries her best but just can't act.

2. Gautam Gulati as Shartiya

His voice has been dubbed by someone else. He is just there to flaunt his body and his acting chops are as bad as his stereotypical GUNDA character in the film.

3. Rumana Molla as Rukul Singh

She has done an average job

4.Archana Puran Singh as Madhu ,Brijendra Kala as Police Inspector

I felt sad to see these talented actors being wasted in such an awful setup

5. Sunit Gulati and Rajiv Gupta irritates you from the word go in the film.

DIRECTION AND OTHER TECHNICAL ASPECTS

I have seen it all from continuity being broken, burning frames, incorrect color saturation etc these are all the TECHNICAL flaws but otherwise the film itself is a big flaw. The director has to be sent to a film school and also his moral policing has to be done

FINAL VERDICT

If you are a person who stands up for issues like sexism, body shaming,  slut shaming,  feminism,  normalising rape culture etc then this film is surely not meant for you

I'M GOING WITH  ZERO / 5
