You are in
deep sound sleep one minute and oh! - now you’re wide awake thinking what to do
because you can’t fall back to sleep. Familiar much? Well, if you think that
waking up in middle of the dead night is awkward then don’t worry because there’s
nothing horrifying in it.
It is
completely normal to wake up in the middle of the night. Most of the people go
through this situation at least three times a week. There could be many reasons
behind this condition which is called - sleep maintenance insomnia. It is a
common but extremely annoying sleep issue. There are different reasons why this
happens.
ANXIETY
Yes, you got
that right. If you have anxiety and are waking up in the middle of the night,
it is totally normal. This is because you can experience problems like
nightmares.
FULL BLADDER
Getting up
to pee in middle of your sleep is very common. This happens because your full
bladder can’t wait till morning. Drinking too much of fluids before sleep can
cause this situation to happen. So, make sure to go to the bathroom before
getting the sound sleep.
ENVIRONMENT THAT YOU SLEEP IN
The
environment you dose off in plays an important role during your sound sleep. If
the place you sleep, is not dark, or is very noisy then your sleep may be
disturbed. So the environment should be dark and noise-free. The temperature of the room should also be accurate;
it shouldn’t be very hot or very cold to sleep in.
SLEEP APNEA
It’s a
disorder when your breathe stops or slows down during you are asleep. That is
you awake feeling like you need to catch your breathe. So if you have got a
serious issue like this on a regular basis then you should visit your doctor
soon.
RESTLESS LEG
If your legs
feel tired all day, then this can affect your deep sleep while you fall asleep.
Feeling of throbbing, itching or aching of your legs during the sleep can
disrupt your sleep too.
