"I would get rejected every day. Every day they would tell me I'm not fit." This is what Kartik Aaryan said while opening about his journey in Bollywood.
‘Hard work pays off’ and in Kartik’s success story, it resonates fully. Born and brought up in Gwalior, he relocated to Mumbai to pursue engineering. Simultaneously, he dabbled in modelling and made attempts to start a career in films.
After struggling almost 3 years, he finally made his acting debut in 2011 with 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama'. From there he went viral over the internet because of the famous monologue he delivered in the movie.
Even though he became a sensation, Kartik didn’t get the limelight he aspired for. Stardom soon followed after ‘Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety’ which was released in 2018. Prior to this film, his movie list includes, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Akaash Vaani and Guest Inn London. His movies did considerably well but it was his role in SKTKS that got him fame.
In an interview Kartik said “It was a film that actually changed my life. My character of Sonu was an author-backed role and I feel we all need a friend like Sonu in our lives which is why this role is really special to me. After the film’s success, I started getting attention from the right kind of people. They started noticing me the way I wanted them to notice me. I started getting response from the people who I wanted to work with”.
Talking about his upcoming ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ which is turning heads for him these days, just a few days back, he shared the first look of the film and surprised his fans. Starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday the film is set to hit the theaters on December 6, 2019.
Kartik also has many other projects in his kitty which includes –‘Bhool Bhulaiyan 2’, Dostana 2 and Imitiaz Ali untitled opposite Sara Ali Khan.
