WHATSAPP SERVICES TO BE BANNED IN INDIA ?

The ministry showed its concern on anti national elements in the nation using social media handles for executing their activities in the nation. The meeting specifically highlighted the latest arrests of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists, who were engaged in the attacks on the Nagota Camp in Jammu and Kashmir in 2016. These terrorists were accontable for the death of seven soldiers and also told one of the leading dailies of the nation that they were recieveing all the information for the attack through Whatsapp calls from across the border. The meeting was basically a platform for discussing the various ways of keeping a check on how different social media applications were being used. The discussion was not just to avoid the terrorists from communicating, but also to make them devoid of all these forums which are used for provoking the people for communal unrest in sensitive areas with rumours. The topmost officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), the Department of Telecomunications (DoT) and the various security grousp in Jammu and Kashmir agreed on the point that Whatsapp was the most trusted and preferred medium of communication for anti-national organizations. Speaking to one of the officials of the leading newspaper, the security groups have been trying to check the usage ofapps like Whatsapp. It's feature of end to end encryption does not let the officials to get the correct information while examining the crime. He also gave the example of Middle Eastern naytions where Whatsapp calling was strictly prohibited. This however is not the first time that governemtn is involved in a debate like this. In 2016, a PIL for banning the app on the grounds of national security was filed in the Supreme Court. This will of course be the outcome because the Whatsapp is not going to take back its encryption policy for limited users. Moreover, there is no justified reason for this action. Whatsapp is used by more than a billion users and it has the responsibility of keeping the user's data safe and secure. Requesting the change in the policy of the company, is just another way of corruption or spying people on religious grounds. It is the similar siotuation that Apple compamy is facing with USA's intelligence groups. Facebook owned by Whatsapp is also under pressure for not being able to keep the data of the users safe.
