Woman has always been synonymous to beauty, resilience and grit. These words may define her character, her inner beauty the best. But women throughout the history have been extra conscious about their appearances and outer beauty as well. And these trends have changed, for better or for worse, over the years. Here are some changes we have witnessed and jotted down for you:
1. CURVY VOLUPTUOUS TO SLIM-TRIM: SIZE DOES MATTER
Earlier voluptuous women were considered better than petite ones. However, now ‘the bigger, the better’ concept is true only for hair. One kg extra and girls and ladies rush to the gym. One extra inch and they go on liquid and keto diets.
2. HAIR CARE: COZ THEY’RE WORTH IT
Hair is probably the most precious possession for the gentler gender. And this hasn’t changed at all. Hair of any colour and any length is a treasure we take very seriously and use hundreds of products to maintain. Well, the only thing that has changed is now we have so many different shampoos and conditioners and serums and oils to choose from.
3. DRESSES TO DENIMS: EASY FASHION IS THE NEW IN
Looking feminine no more requires you to suffocate in a dress. Remember, how Victorian age women used to suffocate within a tight corset and wear voluminous dresses complete with layers of cloth and tulle. Well, dressing sense has definitely changed for better over the years. Women are now experimental and wear absolutely anything, from denims to kurtas. Thank God, definition of a Lady has been upgraded from being caged into those huge frocks to being elegant and classy in etiquettes.
4. PILLION RIDERS TO DRIVERS: ‘COZ LEARNING MAKES A WOMAN PERFECT TOO
Gone were the days when only men were the drivers of cars as well as all the decisions in the family. Women are now equivalent to men in every field of life. In fact, better at most of the tasks. Consider driving, for example. A study conducted by a site called Confused.com had concluded that women drivers have fewer accidents than their male counterparts and have better driving habits than men too.
5. EYES ARE THE MIRROR TO SOUL AND “EYEBROWS” ARE THE EYE-CATCHERS
Eyebrows are as much an essential part of appearance as the eyes underneath them. There shapes and sizes have changed throughout the course of history. From uni-brow to dense brows, girls and women have tried every formula to grab eyeballs.
