This family earlier made a record for studying in the same class and yet again are in news for one good and one not so good reason.
Biplab, 18, his father Balaram and mother of the teen Kalyani recently appeared for 12 exams. Astonishing right? off course you should be. 42 years old father and 32 years old mother of Biplab also have a thirst for education. Kalyani scored 45.6% or 228 out of 500 marks and her son got 50.6% or 253.
“The happiness would have been complete if my father could pass the exams with my mother and myself. But we would try to ensure that he gets to study more next time,”
Biplab told the Hindustan Times.
The family went for Class 12 examination under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education together. All the three were studying the same subjects and attended school in uniform and studied in the same classroom. Only went for a private tuition and
later taught parents at home.
Now the mother wants to study further “We want to take up the same subjects in the same college. It would allow us to cut costs on books and reference material,” Kalyani said. Though Balram is quite dissatisfied with his performance in exams “I want a review of my numbers. I was quite satisfied after the exams. I never expected this outcome. However, if there is no change after review, I would definitely appear again next year,” he said.
Balaram used to get up early go to plot where he grows vegetables then return home to study. Also, he works as a labour sometimes. “We are competitors in the exam hall. I have to outperform them,”
said the son before sitting for the exam.
