UK and India Discuss Technology and Security Collaboration

During UK national security advisor Tim Barrow’s two-day visit to India, discussions with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval primarily focused on the Technology and Security Initiative. This bilateral mechanism aims to enhance collaboration in critical and emerging technologies between the two countries.

Both NSAs engaged in substantive deliberations to outline the roadmap for this initiative, recognizing the importance of leveraging technology to address shared security challenges. They also discussed bilateral issues of mutual interest and exchanged views on regional and global matters.

Barrow’s visit included participation in a high-level dialogue led by the NSAs of both countries, aiming to deepen cooperation on security, technology, and regional affairs. Additionally, Barrow met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss various bilateral, regional, and global issues, further reinforcing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the UK and India.

The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest and importance, including security and technology. It comes in the context of ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration between India and the UK, as outlined in the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and India-UK Roadmap 2030.
